Warning: Revealing details for Episode 3 of the new season lie ahead.
The Combat-Oriented Party Revealed
The third episode concluded with a dramatic pause and revealed the first table of adventurers who will split off from the central cast to undertake their independent quest, distinct from the other two tables.
The combat-focused team consists of Teor Pridesire (brought to life by Travis Willingham), the agile character (Laura), the fierce warrior (Whitney Moore), Wicander Halovar (Sam Riegel), and Kattigan (Robbie).
Dividing the Cast
Given an extensive roster, it was evident from the outset that keeping everyone at a single group would be impossible.
This explains, the first four episodes of this story serve as an Prelude, weaving together the individual narratives before dividing into three distinct groups: Soldiers, Strategists, and Seekers.
What Defines the Combat Party
Per Brennan Lee Mulligan, the warrior group is for adventurers who enjoy a typically action-packed battle-oriented story mode where diplomatic options are scarce.
Upon first impression, characters like the reluctant priest the cleric might seem unsuited, but the actions of the third episode demonstrate why these specific adventurers are ideally matched for the Soldiers table.
Motivations for Departure
First, the party knows exactly where to proceed after a violent initial meeting with the antagonists.
Casimir of the deceased character—whose death initiated the narrative’s action—manipulated the enemy for his own means, invading the secret base, attacking the character, and swiping all the magical artifacts to dispose of.
The traitor then cleared his obligations and ran away to a fortified location in the northern region, north of the urban center, with Cyd close behind.
Personal Motivations
Moreover, each member has a specific drive to leave the city the urban setting:
- The rogue, as the companion and closest confidant, desires retribution.
- Kattigan is familiar with the northern area and cautions that it is a nasty location.
- Tyranny and The cleric, having disobeyed his house’s orders to execute the fighter and instead saved him, have no safe haven.
- But, their position as prominent individuals in House Halovar could help the team enter locations they typically wouldn’t be able to.
- Additionally, The fighter swore a unbreakable promise to The cleric for his rescue and will now accompany him everywhere.
Wanted and Hunted
Lastly, all of them are sought by the rulers that govern Dol-Makjar for a multiple motives, making staying in the city no longer safe:
- Thimble and The hero are known criminals.
- Tyranny and The healer turned against the influential house and the horde of evil beings they are partnered with.
- Teor is wanted dead by House Halovar.
This results in them little choice but to journey toward the northern region in search of Casimir.
Future Episodes
According to the latest episode’s Cooldown, we learn that the Soldiers table will be absent in the upcoming installment, leaving the other eight participants to round up the Explorers and Schemers tables.
